Today I went to the stable with Mike and we also had Trasan. Mike didn't feel ready to ride so he took Trasan for a walk. I took Flamman for a spin and she was still a little nervous from yesterday when we had a dressage competition at our stable.(The sound from the speakers made her think she was back at the races again.) But once we got out in the woods she got over it and we had some great gallops! When we got back Mike snapped this photo of us :-) Yesterday, like I said earlier, we had a dressage competition at the stable. Flame got really nervous and hyper. I took her for a small ride and after we got back I had to help out at the stable so I became the parking host. It was a little bit lonely but I also manage to take some photos. And that is always fun so I hope you will enjoy some of them that I posted below. Yesterday while out on our almost daily ride I felt it was time to let Flame decide how fast she wants to run. There's a perfect spot for that where there's two up hills. Not steep, just a little tilt. She allways loves to run there so I said, ok, lets go! Leaned forward and gave the rains slack. She ran pretty fast and I thought to myself "should I pull" but I noticed that she wasn't interested in running faster, she even slowed down a little in between the to up hills. Then faster again. At the end of the second hill I sad "woo" and she immediately slowed down. and started walking down hills on the other side. Not nervous or hyper, just as calm as if she never galloped up those two hills. Made me so happy! Feels like I can trust her more and more every day. I know some days we're gonna have drawbacks but right now it's all great!! Yesterday we took a spin in the pins :-) with our dear friends Eva and Trasan. I suggested to Eva we ride with Hackamore, a type of bitless bridle, since Flame has been so good lately. I have to admit I was a little bit nervous at first, after all, she is a thoroughbred. But I didn't have to worry! We trotted, galloped and she was calm and sweet! <3 Flame 4 ever! Before I could go home and eat Mykeys good dinner I had to fill Flame's bucket that she apparently kicked over earlier in the day. The water was sooo slow..:-) Today we went riding in the woods for 90min and Flame was sooo good!! We galloped a lot and had tons of fun! After I gave her a nice shower with shampoo. And some hay of course. She seemed really happy to me. I know I am :-) Love you Flame <3
We're thinking of getting a western saddle for Flame. I do most trail riding anyways.. So tonight my friend Manuela comes over with a saddle and we're gonna try it on. If that one wont fit my stable mate Bert said I can borrow his on Saturday to get a feel of how it is to ride western. I wonder how Flame is gonna like it but I have a feeling she will! Latley Flame has been real good out in the woods. I hardly have to hold her rains :-)
Yesterday we rode with 3 other horses and she loved it! She was so relaxed and calm. Flame is having some lunch in her new pasture. Yesterday I went riding with a friend from the stable. Finally after all our rides by ourselves, me and Flame found company. We didn't get far though before the rain started coming down. Oh well ,we thought. This will pass, after all we could see the sun. All of a sudden our horses started acting up and after a second we also heard the thunder. We decided to go back to the stable. The rainstarted to come down harder and harder and when we were almost at the stable there was thunder and lightning at the same time!! I put Flame in her box and she was dripping of water :-) But she seemed very happy to be in her box when it was so scary outside. So the ride was about 20 min tops.. Hope we can get some company soon again on a sunny day. Love you Flame! Ok. this is crazy! We went from snow to 25 degrees celsius in one week! :-) I'm not complaining though.. We had a great ride around Hagby last night! I was wearing only a t-shirt. Today we moved Flame to a new pasture closer to other horses since her dear friends, Trixie and Sissi has moved to their summer pasture. I think Flame will be happy 'cus there's lots of grass and it's next to her old friends Chili and Trasan. Monday Mike and I went to Horze and I bought 2 new pairs of riding pants, schampoo and a new fleece blanket for Flame. Now I can't wait for Sunday to come 'cus I'm gonna wash Flame reaaaal good! Today Nigel came by and put a new shoe on Flame. Thanks Nigel for coming out on a Sunday!! Then we went for a ride. She was absolutely wonderful! But I think she's starting to like this galloping thing a little bit too much..she's testing how fast I will let her go. And I'm still a little bit insecure since we haven't really been galloping so much together. I don't know if I'll be able to stop her if I let her go faster. So for now she has to run real slow. :-)
